SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) � The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced 1,287 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in Illinois, including 73 additional deaths.
In his daily briefing Tuesday, Governor JB Pritzker said it was the largest single day increase in deaths to date.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 13,549 cases, including 380 deaths, in 77 counties in Illinois.
Health officials say 80-percent of deaths have occurred in individuals 60 years of age or older.
In all, the age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
