New COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, Sept. 9

(WSIL) -- Thirteen southern Illinois counties reported new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.

Jackson County had the most with 12 new cases, as well as one additional death.

On Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,337 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 30 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 253,690 cases, including 8,214 deaths, in Illinois.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 60s
  • Male: One in his 60s

To date, there have been 387 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Franklin County. Health officials say, of the positive cases, 271 have recovered.

HAMILTON COUNTY

  • One male in his 50s

There have been 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hamilton County, including one death. Health officials say four people are currently isolating at home.

HARDIN COUNTY

  • One female in her 60s

Hardin County has had 23 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Southern Seven Health Department says three of those cases are currently active.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: Two teens, three in their 20s and one in her 30s
  • Male: Three in their 20s, one in his 30s, one in his 40s, and one in his 60s

In addition to 12 new cases of COVID-19, Jackson County Health Department also reported one additional death.

The health department says a woman in her 90s previously diagnosed with COVID-19 passed away.

To date, there have been 1,106 confirmed cases in the county, including 24 related deaths. Health officials say 141 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s and two in their 50s
  • Male: One in his 30s and one in his 40s

There have been 521 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 31 deaths, in Jefferson County. The health department says 25 active cases are currently in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • One female in her 50s

Johnson County has had 134 confirmed cases of COVID-19. According to Southern Seven Health Department, 39 of those cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • One female in her 40s

There have been 74 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Massac County. Southern Seven Health Department says 25 cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • One male in his 30s

There have been 313 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 14 deaths, in Perry County. The health department says 24 cases are currently active.

POPE COUNTY

  • One female in 10s

Pope County has had 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Health officials say eight cases are currently active.

PULASKI COUNTY

  • One female in 10s

There have been 143 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, including one death. Southern Seven Health Department says 24 cases are currently active.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s and two in their 40s
  • Male: Two in their 20s

According to Egyptian Health Department, Saline County has had 194 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including three deaths.

UNION COUNTY

  • Male: One in his 20s and one in his 30s

There have been 440 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 20 deaths, in Union County. According to Southern Seven Health Department, 61 cases are currently active.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Male: One in his 60s and two in their 70s

To date, Williamson County has had 1,096 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 26 deaths. Health officials say 656 of the positive cases have recovered.
