MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- The Jackson County Health Department reported two new cases of COVID-19 Friday.
The cases are:
- Male � one in his sixties
- Female � one in her twenties
According to the health department, one case reported earlier this week, a woman in her 30s, turned out to be living in another county.
"With the subtraction of that case, and the addition of today’s two, there have been 301 laboratory confirmed cases in Jackson County, including eleven deaths related to the disease," stated a release from the Jackson County Health Department.
Health officials say there are 39 active COVID-19 cases in the county; 251 individuals have been released from isolation.
On Friday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,156 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 59 additional deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 125,915 cases, including 5,795 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.
