St. Louis Aquarium and Wheel will reopen June 8

ST. LOUIS, Mo (WSIL) -- and at Union Station will reopen June 8, but with signficant changes to ensure the health and safety of those that visit. The reopening comes after clearance from the City of St. Louis.

The St. Louis Aquarium plans to resume normal business hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Under the new guidelines, all guests must place advanced reservations to manage capacity limits.

  • , all employees, volunteers, and guests 9 years and older will be required to wear face marks. Guests with preexisting health conditions unable to wear a mask/face covering for medical reasons are exempt. Guests are allowed to remove or lower their masks/face coverings when practicing good social distancing of 6 feet or more when eating or drinking.
  • Guests need to be aware that indoor attractions, including the Aquarium, will require they pass through a temperature scanner.
  • Cash payments will not be accepted.
  • Guests will follow a dedicated, one-way flow throughout the Aquarium.
  • Touch pools, Otter Chat and animal presentations will be available.
  • Fish ID touchscreens, Scavenger Hunt touchscreens, the Train Experience and the Virtual Reality sandbox are not going to be available.

Other attractions at Union Station including the St. Louis Wheel have placed restrictions on capacity limits and have added additional safety measures:

The St. Louis Wheel: Between rides, our staff will take a moment to sanitize each gondola. Please expect minor delays before you’re able to step onto your gondola and as your ride is coming to an end.

The Carousel at Union Station: The number of riders will be limited so guests can maintain a safe 6� distance. After each ride, our staff will take a moment to sanitize the carousel animals and poles. Please expect minor delays between rides to allow for cleaning time.

Mini Golf at Union Station: Our staff regularly sanitizes all equipment after each use. We’ll also limit the number of total guests on the course and monitor group size to ensure successful social distancing.

Ropes Course: We will sanitize tether covers between each use and will provide gloves for those guests who would like them. Advance timed tickets are required.

Mirror Maze: Guests will be provided with gloves and will be spaced out throughout the maze. The compression hallway is temporarily turned off.
