(CNN) -- YouTube is suspending Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's account for a week.
The social media channel suspended Pauls' account for posting false COVID claims.
In the video, which YouTube branded offensive, Paul says "most of the masks you get over the counter don't work. They don't prevent infection."
In a statement, YouTube says "We apply our policies consistently across the platform, regardless of speaker or political views."
In response to the move, Paul tweeted that the suspension was a quote "badge of honor."
