SIKESTON, MO (WSIL) -- 13 people were trapped in a hotel elevator for almost an hour until Sikeston authorities were able to extract them.
Information on the incident stems from a Sikeston Department of Public Safety Facebook post.
On Saturday, July 1 at around 1:35 p.m., Sikeston DPS and police reported to the Hampton Inn located at 1240 Commerce Drive after receiving intel on 13 people being stuck in an elevator.
Police discovered the elevator had stalled between the second and third floor. After several failed attempts to get the elevator to work, Sikeston police were able to enter the shaft of the elevator. After 45 minutes, emergency personnel were able to extract everyone inside the elevator safely.
No injuries were reported.
