AKIN, ill. (WSIL) � The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said they received a 911 call for a report of a possible drowning at a home in the rural part of Akin on Friday.
The sheriff’s office stated CPR was attempted on the child while Abbott AMR Ambulance responded. Personnel with the Cave-Eastern Fire and Ewing-Northern Fire also responded, along with sheriff’s deputies.
The child was then taken by ambulance to Franklin Hospital in Benton and was later pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Franklin County Coroners Office.
