MARION, Ill. -- Illinois Central School Bus honors two drivers for 100 years of combined service behind the wheel.Â
Myra Logsdon and Juanita "Jewel" Whitlock started within a week of each other in March of 1974 for Marion Community Unit School District #2.
Currently, Myra drives for the Herrin School District while Jewel is at Carterville. Both ladies transport students with special needs.Â
Each driver has logged over 8,500 school days and traveled over 650,000 miles. That's equivalent to almost 3 trips to the moon!Â
Myra and Jewel were honored by the Marion Knights of Columbus.Â
