ATLANTA, GA (WSIL) -- The CDC announced that a negative COVID test is no longer required to board a flight in the US.

The new policy goes into effect Sunday. The CDC cites the effectiveness of vaccines, medicine, and increased immunity to the virus as reasons for the new ruling.

The CDC still recommends citizens get tested for viruses as close to the time of departure of the flight as possible, and for individuals to not travel if they are sick.
