CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An 18-year-old faces multiple gun-related charges in regards to a shooting investigation on June 21 in Carbondale.

The Jackson County State's Attorney Joseph Cervantez stated police responded to the 700-block of Main Street, near Springer, on June 21, at 11:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting which occurred.

Cervantez detailed a video which was obtained by authorities, which he says shows a man wearing dark clothing and getting out of a white vehicle and fired several shots at another vehicle there on Main Street.

There were no reported injuries, however, Cervantez did state a home was damaged.

Three days later, Cervantez requested an arrest warrant for Justin N. Perteet-Lovelady, 18 of Carbondale, for multiple Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon charges.

On June 29, at around 1:45 a.m., Perteet-Lovelady was seen by officers in the 600-block of East Grand Avenue. Authorities said Perteet-Lovelady then ran from police, however, he was then taken into custody. Cervantez said Perteet-Lovelady had a gun in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Perteet-Lovelady faces charges with multiple counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

A preliminary hearing is set for Perteet-Lovelady for July 16 at 1:15 p.m. in Jackson County.
