BENTON, Ill. -- A man is being accused of threatening a public official and was arrested earlier this week.
The Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon said their office started investigating a threat made to an employee at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services on February 7.
The sheriff said this threat was a part of an investigation being completed by the agency and Shawn R. Gilbreath, 33 of Benton, is alleged to have been involved.
Sheriff Bacon said Gilbreath was arrested and faces two counts of threatening a public official charges.
Gilbreath was taken to the Franklin County Jail. He is due in court on February 9 at 1 p.m. for a petition hearing.
