Cape Girardeau man faces charges after police respond to disturbance in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- A Cape Girardeau man was taken to jail after police said they found multiple guns in a vehicle when they investigated a disturbance over the weekend.

The Carbondale Police Department stated their officers responded to the 700-block of East Grand Avenue on December 28, at 2 a.m. for a person excessively revving their engine and causing a disturbance.

Police said they started investigating and saw a firearm inside the vehicle. Police then said they found two more guns inside the vehicle with several rounds of ammunition for all three firearms.

The driver was identified as Jaywhun Presberry, 24 of Cape Girardeau, and was arrested.

Police then said Presberry was taken to the Jackson County Jail and faces charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon - No Firearm Owners Identification Card, with additional charges pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
