...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Christopher death ruled a stabbing, victim identified

UPDATE: 1:45 p.m.

Illinois State Police have released more information on the incident in Christopher.聽

ISP says 37-year-old Jeffery Brown was found with a stab wound.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing are under investigation.聽

ORIGINAL STORY

CHRISTOPHER (WSIL) -- An investigation is underway after a death in Christopher.聽

ON Sunday, December 25, 2022, around 4:30 p.m. Christopher Police responded to a home in the 200 block of 15th Street for an incident.聽

Police say a 37-year-old man was taken to Franklin Hospital for injuries and he later died.聽

Illinois State Police Zone 7 is handling the investigation and Christopher Police is assisting.聽

The investigation is active and ongoing. No other information is available at this time.聽
