* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Johnson County man found guilty of father’s murder

VIENNA (WSIL) -- A Johnson County man on trial for the 2015 murder of his father has been found guilty.

Johnson County State's Attorney Tambra Cain tells News 3 that Dennis Schapmire, 41, of Ozark, was found guilty on all counts, including first degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Dennis Schapmire was accused of shooting his father Nicholas Schapmire with a .357 caliber revolver in May of 2015.

He could face up to life in prison for the first degree murder charge alone.

Sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. September 16.
