WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (WSIL) -- Local and state police are investigating a man's shooting death in West Frankfort.
Police responded to a 911 call around 9:07 p.m. Friday about a male who had been shot in the 700 block of South Skelton Street.
Officers arrived and found a male shot multiple times, according to a release from police chief John Prudent.
Paramedics from the West Frankfort Fire Department were called to transport the victim to Herrin Hospital, where he died from his injuries. Police are not releasing his name at this time.
Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services is assisting West Frankfort PD with the ongoing investigation.
