HAYWOOD CITY, Mo. (WSIL) -- A Scott County man faces multiple charges after he is accused of breaking into a home.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office said on April 5, their deputies responded to a home near Haywood City in regards to a burglary incident.
The sheriff's office said a victim and witness they spoke to told them they caught someone in their home, confronted the suspect and knocked him to the ground. The suspect then ran out of the house and fled the area.
The burglary was captured on surveillance at the home and the suspect was identified as Preston Jackson of Scott County, the sheriff's office stated.
Authorities tracked him down on April 6. The sheriff's office said when they went to arrest him, he raised a hammer above his head while taking a step towards deputies and a brief struggle ensued. He was then arrested and taken to the Scott County Jail.

- Resisting Arrest (Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child 2nd Degree (Misdemeanor)
- Assault 4th Degree (Misdemeanor)
