CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Authorities recently arrested Kaemarius Parks at a home in Centralia, Illinois, in relation to a shooting investigation in Carbondale on May 18.
The arrest came on May 25th. Carbondale police said Parks refused to come out of the home at first, but eventually surrendered to law enforcement. He was then taken to the Marion County Jail and has since been extradited to the Jackson County Jail.
In an earlier news release from Carbondale police, they said two people were sent to a local hospital as a result of a shooting in Carbondale on May 18.Â
Carbondale police said officers arrived on the scene on S. Lewis Lane at 6:50 a.m. and the two victims were taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
According to online court records, Parks faces a total of five charges. They are attempted murder, three counts of aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Parks is due back in court on June 25 for a preliminary hearing in Jackson County.
