METROPOLIS, Ill. -- A southern Illinois man was arrested twice in three days after he was suspected of stealing a bottle of alcohol each on the two different dates.

Metropolis Police Department said on November 14, officers were called to the Party Hut for a reported theft of a bottle of whiskey, valued at $150.

Officers said they reviewed some video surveillance and recognized the suspect as Cesar V. Mounts, 32 of Brookport.

Officers went over to a home where Mounts might have been staying and arrested him for retail theft. He was then released on a notice to appear.

Three days later, officers were called to Walgreens for a theft. They found out the suspect removed the anti-theft ring from a bottle of vodka and hid the bottle in their coat.

The suspect in this incident was also identified as Cesar V. Mounts, 32 of Brookport. Police said they found him in the front lobby there at Walgreens and found the bottle of vodka as well.

Mounts was arrested for a second time and charged with retail theft with a notice to appear.
