PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- On April 24, deputies and court security officers from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to a collision in the courthouse parking lot.

The sheriff's office said the driver of the vehicle was Ginger Whitfield, and the passenger of the vehicle fled on foot. The passenger was identified as Kelsey Collins.

Authorities said they discovered illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in the vehicle following an investigation. Paducah police officers later located Collins, who was reported to have outstanding warrants for her arrest.

The sheriff's office said Whitfield was suspected of driving under the influence of an unknown substance and was cited to court due to injuries from the collision.

Collins was cited with charges of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine, marking her third offense, along with a drug paraphernalia charge.

Whitfield was cited for multiple offenses, including operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of hydrocodone, failure to produce insurance, and first and second degree wanton endangerment charges.
