FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Two are in jail after police respond to the death of a child at a local hospital.
The Fredericktown Police Department stated on March 27, at 12:55 a.m., officers went to the Madison Medical Center for a report of some suspicious circumstances involving a child.
Once officers got to the hospital, medical staff told police the child was dead and showed evidence of abuse or neglect, police stated.
The mother of the child was at the hospital at the time. She was taken into custody. Officers also located the mother's boyfriend which was taken into custody as well.
According to a probable cause statement, the child was four years old.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control assisted with the investigation.
On Thursday, March 28, Fararro appeared in a Madison County courtroom where she pleaded not guilty. A bond reduction was denied during this arraignment.
Fararro is due back in court on April 11, 2024, for a counsel status hearing in Madison County.
Rosener also appeared in a Madison County courtroom on March 28. He pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces as well.
The judge scheduled Rosener to appear back in a courtroom on April 11, 2024, for a case review.
