CAIRO, Ill. -- Two men face charges after leading police on a high speed chase in Alexander County.
The Alexander County Sheriff's Office said it happened during the early morning hours on Monday. Deputies were chasing a vehicle along I-57 going at a high rate of speed.
The sheriff's office said authorities were able to stop the vehicle which had a driver and a passenger inside. They arrested them both.
One of the suspects is alleged to have had a weapon on him. He was identified as Jashad Williams and is being charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
The other suspect is Nicholas Moss and faces a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding.
Both were taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
