FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says one woman is dead after a single vehicle crash in rural Franklin County.
It happened just before 1:00pm on Illinois State Highway 148 just north of the Williamson/Franklin County line. The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling south before leaving the road and hitting a tree. 77-year-old Robert Summers of Christopher was driving the vehicle. He was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. 78-year-old Barbara Summers was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where she was pronounced dead.
Assisting agencies included the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, Royalton Fire Department, Abbott EMS, Williamson County Ambulance, and AirEvac Lifeteam.
