CAIRO, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Cairo School Board announced the appointment of Pamela Rizkallah as the new superintendent and Dr. Kenneth Griffin as the new assistant superintendent, effective July 1, 2025.
Rizkallah brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including expertise in finance and district budget management. She expressed her enthusiasm for the role, saying, "I am excited to listen, learn and lead alongside this incredible community. The future is bright, and I am ready to work hand in hand to make that vision a reality."
Griffin, with 15 years in education, began as a teacher and coach in Hayti, Missouri. He is passionate about helping students overcome adversity. "At my core, I'm a worker," Griffin said. "I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and be a part of something special in Cairo."
The board says they are confident this "dynamic duo" will achieve notable success in their new roles.
