...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Fairfield Mules 5-0 on the season

FAIRFIELD (WSIL) � Seven area teams were trying to stay unbeaten in week five of the high school football season including the Fairfield Mules who were also unscored upon through their first 4 games.

    

The Mules hosted Carmi-White County on US Armed Forces Night.

    

Early in the 1st quarter, Carmi’s Ethan Mahon connected with Jaedon Reeder a touchdown to give the Bulldogs an 8-0 lead.

Later in the quarter, Cade Carter scored from 23 yards out to tie the game at 8.

In the 2nd quarter, Fairfield’s Wyatt Gilbert scored from 29 yards out to give the Mules a 14-8 lead.

Fairfield then recovered the onsides kick and scored again on a 44-yard run by Cade Carter.     

The Mules won 40-8 to improve to 5-and-0 on the season.

    

Carmi falls to 3-and-2.
