(WSIL)---Doctors warn time is precious when it comes to strokes.
Doctors say watch for warning signs and BE FAST, looking for issues with balance, eyes, face, arms, and speech, then because of time , call 9-1-1 quickly.
If you are having a stroke, early intervention is important for recovery.
"It's very natural to try and stay home and see if symptoms go away. We strongly discourage people from doing that, because as soon as the brain starts having problems, people should call 9-1-1 urgently. The sooner we can see patients, the sooner we can help them, and they better they can do in the future," said SIH's Medical Director of Neurosciences, Dr. Alejandro Hornick.
A stroke can happen to anyone at any age, but preexisting conditions like obesity put you at higher risk.
