SPRINGFIELD (WEEK) � Adult-use marijuana sales in Illinois set a new record in April with nearly $115 million reported.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s report shows 2,463,056 items were sold in April, the most of any month since sales became legal on Jan. 1, 2020.
Illinois residents spent $79,909,284 on marijuana products in April alone, with out-of-state residents spending $35,052,383.
So far in 2021, a total of $393 million in sales have been reported by the IDFPR.
Adult-use marijuana sales in 2020 closed out at $669 million.
