...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ TODAY TO
7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ today to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Marion to light up for mental health awareness at Tower Square event

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Centerstone and the City of Marion are officially kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month on Wednesday with a lighting ceremony in Downtown Marion.

The 2nd Annual Lighting of Tower Square in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month event will be held on May 7, at 6:30 p.m. on Tower Square Plaza.

Community leaders will also be in attendance to spread awareness and hope.

Event representatives encourage those who attend to wear green on Wednesday.
