Missing 19-year-old Carbondale woman found safe

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- UPDATE: A missing 19-year-old woman was found and is in good health, Carbondale police said in an updated news release.

ORIGINAL: Dec. 19, 2:21 p.m. - Police in Carbondale are looking for a 19-year-old who has a condition which could place her in danger.

Police said they are looking for Mandy E. Pope, 19, who was last seen on Monday, December 18, at around 7 a.m. in the 400-block of South Illinois Avenue.

Pope was supposed to take a train to Kankakee, Illinois for the day, however, she was not on the train when it arrived back in Carbondale in the evening, police said.

Pope is a white female, 4�11� tall, weighing 135 lbs. With brown hair and brown eyes. She also was last seen wearing a pink dress.
