Missing woman in southern Illinois, possibly armed and suicidal. Officials urge you to call 911 if see her

NASHVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities are searching for Cassandra E. Tanner, a 42-year-old woman from Nashville, Illinois, who is reported missing and considered suicidal.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Tanner was last located by phone south of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on Interstate 57 on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Law enforcement said she may be driving a white 2015 Buick Enclave with Missouri registration XF4V0M, featuring a "Salt Life" sticker on the back window.

Officials warn that Tanner could be armed with a rifle and advise not to approach her. If spotted, individuals are asked to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information about Tanner's whereabouts is urged to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 618-327-8274 Ext. 4 or submit an anonymous tip via 618-327-4800 Ext. 105 or the Sheriff's App. Reference report number CAD25-004597 when providing information.
