JACOB, Ill. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a single vehicle crash in Jackson County on Monday.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said their office received a report of a rollover crash along Route 3 near Big Lake Road, just north of the Jacob area.
The sheriff's Office said a 2001 Ford Taurus was going south when the vehicle went off the road and overturned.
Dalton McCarty, 20 of Murphysboro, was reported as the driver of the vehicle.
The sheriff's office said McCarty was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner's Office.
Route 3 was closed for roughly 2.5 hours. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
Assisting the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was the Jackson County Ambulance Service and the Ava Fire Department.
