...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

New Reconstructed Bridge in Southern Illinois Displays Amazing Flag Design

MARION, Ill. -- A newly reopened bridge in Williamson County is attracting some attention with its dazzling lights and design.

The Westminster Road bridge over I-57 south of Marion, recently reopened in December of 2023, after being closed for roughly 11 months for reconstruction.

Now, the bridge is flying an amazing flag design for all to see.

Steve Quinn with Samron Midwest Contracting took a couple photos to show off just how great the new design looks.

A post on Samron Midwest Contracting's Facebook page stated how proud they are of how the project turned out. They also reminded people who are driving to not take any pictures of it and to always drive safely.
