SIU fraternity to raise money for children's organization with Halloween event

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- A local fraternity is raising funds for a national organization by offering people a spooky night out.

The Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity at SIU is offering a haunted house event to take place at 502 S. University Avenue coming up on October 29-30 from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m.

The event will feature a maze around the home, jump scares and other scary attractions.

The entrance fee will be $5 per person. Accepted payments are cash, through Cash App and Venmo at the door.

Money raised will go towards the SeriousFun Children's Network.

Last year, the fraternity made $775 to go towards helping the children's organization.

The was founded by Paul Newman in 1988 which provides programs to serve children facing serious injuries, and their families, free of charge for them.
