...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk scheduled for Cobden this weekend

Suicide prevention month

COBDEN, Ill. -- The 1st Annual Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk is scheduled for the City of Cobden this weekend.

The Cobden Women's Club, along with the City of Cobden, are presenting the walk which is scheduled for September 14.

The walk will be held at Cobden Park at the soccer field at 217 Locust Street, starting at 10 a.m.

The cost is free to join the walk.

Additionally, there will also be speaker Beth Morrison MSEd, LCPC on hand which is a board member for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
