LYON COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) -- A crash involving four vehicles with a total of 11 people involved, resulted in two dead and another two taken to hospitals on Monday.
The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 stated the crash happened on December 2, at 4:21 p.m., along I-24 near the 42 mile marker in Lyon County.
Police said their investigation revealed a 2000 Honda Passport was going west on I-24 with five people in the vehicle. The driver of the Passport was Tiffany Anderson, 44 of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Her passengers in the Passport were Tara Rex, 52 of Hopkinsville, James Simmons, 42 of Paducah, James Sanders, 49 of Hopkinsville and Brian Holt, 50 of Cadiz.
KSP also described a 2020 International truck with a trailer going west on I-24 as well in this area. The driver of the truck was reported as Tomas Almaguer-Martinez, 54 of Guadalupe, Mexico, with a passenger, Antioco Garcia-Morales, 31 of Mexico City, Mexico.
Police said the Passport sideswiped the International truck before crossing over the median and hitting a 2024 GMC Sierra and a 2024 Freightliner truck with a trailer.
The GMC Sierra was driven by Tucker Heaton, 42 of Princeton with two other passengers, Jordan Thomas, 38 of Princeton and Kerry Orange, 56 of Princeton.Â
26-year-old Dipen Tiwari from Pickerington, Ohio, was the driver of the Freightliner.
Both Rex and Simmons were ejected from the vehicle during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, KSP stated. Anderson was sent to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries while Sanders was taken to another hospital in another state with serious injuries.
No other injures were reported.
