MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) -- Authorities are looking for the public's help in an animal cruelty case after five puppies were dumped and in poor condition.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they, along with Animal Control, responded to the area of Clinton Road and S. Gum Springs Road on the morning of September 13, for animals being dumped.

Authorities found a blue animal crate with a white towel with purple stains on it. The crate had five puppies in it, roughly 5-6 weeks old, the sheriff's office detailed.

The sheriff's office said the puppies were alive, but in poor condition and they suffered from being in the same location there for multiple days.
