Groundbreaking, photo rendering event scheduled for new Graves County Courthouse two years after EF-4 tornado

MAYFIELD, Ky. -- County officials are scheduled to break ground on the new Graves County Administration Building (Courthouse) on Monday, December 11.

The Graves County Judge Executive’s Office announced the groundbreaking event to take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the site of the previous Graves County Courthouse at 101 East South Street, Mayfield, KY 42066.

Graves County resident Susan Scott Higdon is scheduled to emcee the event.

During the event, the lives lost during the December 10th, 2021 tornado will be honored.

New details will be discussed for the Graves County Administrative Building, as well as, unveiling the new courthouse rendering, followed by the ceremonial groundbreaking.

Everyone is invited to attend. Refreshments will also be served.

"We are excited as we begin a new chapter for Graves County and would appreciate everyone in joining us on this historical day," the judge's office said.
