MAYFIELD, Ky. (WSIL) -- Just days after remembering the lives lost in the third anniversary of an EF-4 tornado in Mayfield, law enforcement came together to make new memories by helping with gifts to local children.
This was all part of the Christmas Shop with a Deputy program with the Graves County Sheriff's Office.
The morning kicked off on Saturday with a breakfast for the children, their family and the sheriff's deputies at the Pryorsburg Baptist Church.
Afterwards, law enforcement helped the children pick out gifts at the Walmart in Mayfield. The funds to purchase the items were made possible through the Independence Bank in Mayfield, raised in part by the annual Tractor Drive in the community.
The late Graves County Sheriff Dwayne Redmon began this tradition years ago. The current sheriff Jon Hayden and staff members continue the holiday tradition.
