Food drive in DuQuoin to aide in tornado recovery

DU QUOIN, Ill. (WSIL) A food drive will take place Friday, April 18th, to support relief efforts for those impacted by the tornado outbreak of March 14th.

Officials say this is all thanks to a $15,000 grant given to the District 1-CS Lions of Illinois by the Lions Clubs International Foundation's Disaster Relief Initiative.

District 1-CS Lions of Illinois, the Du Quoin Lions Club, and members from across Illinois will join to distribute 400 boxes of food for Perry County residents.

Officials say they have collaborated with Cusumano and Sons to make it possible.

Organizers will distribute the boxes at Saint John's Village Hall in Du Quoin from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
