Cody Draffen, 32

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) A Paducah man faces several charges after police say they observed him driving at high speeds.

On Monday, April 14th, the McCracken County Sheriff's Office received a report of a reckless driver.

A deputy saw the driver, 32-year-old Cody Draffen, driving 25 miles over the speed limit on Clark Line Road and Houser Road.

The deputy then tried to catch up to Draffen, but was unsuccessful as he lost sight of the vehicle.

The sheriff's office says less than a minute later, dispatch began to receive calls about that vehicle running off the roadway and flipping.

Witnesses told police they saw Draffen fleeing the scene.

Thanks to the bystanders, authorities say they located Draffen.

Deputies say he was under the influence at the time of the accident.

Draffen was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

After he was released from the hospital, Draffen was booked into the McCracken County Jail.

Draffen is facing charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI charge, and speeding 25 miles over the limit.

The charges indicate that this is Draffen's fourth or more offense with driving under the influence and third or greater offense driving on a suspended license due to a DUI.

MCSO says Draffen could face felony charges for the repeated DUI charges.

Draffen's bond is currently set at $2,500.Â
