JACKSON, Mo. (WSIL) -- A home is a total loss after a fire on Friday morning.

The Jackson Fire Department responded to a home in the 700-block of Highland Drive in Jackson on the morning of February 21.

Fire crews from surrounding communities also responded with mutual aid and helped out with manning their fire stations. Fire crews fought the blaze and the freezing temperatures and were able to knock down the flames.

A Jackson firefighter said the estimated loss is roughly $250,000. Photos show extensive damage to the backside of the home.

After the fire was out, fire crews had extensive cleanup efforts after dealing with the bitter cold temperatures.

Assisting the Jackson Fire Department were fire crews from Cape Girardeau, Fruitland Gordonville, Scott City and Millersville.
