PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A power outage has left more than 7,000 in the dark on Thursday morning in southeast Missouri.
The Citizens Electric Corporation stated 5,186 members in Cape Girardeau County, along with 2,147 members in Perry County, were without power due to a transmission issue.
Crews were out repairing and switching lines to repair the outage for the affected members.
As of 10:30 a.m., there were still more than 7,000 members out of power in the two counties.
The electric company estimates the power will be restored to everyone by noon.
