RISCO, Mo. (WSIL) -- A 17-year-old was flown to a regional hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the crash happened at 8:15 p.m. on April 19, along US 62, roughly seven miles east of Risco.

State police said a 17-year-old male from New Madrid was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 going east when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, the driver then overcorrected and went off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and flipped over.

The teenager was flown to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis for treatment of serious injuries, a crash report stated.

MSHP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The truck was towed from the scene by Sprouse Towing.
