Woman, two children dead after crash on Christmas Eve

FARMINGTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- Three people are dead after a crash in southeast Missouri during the evening hours on Christmas Eve.

Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the crash happened along Route OO, just south of Route F in St. Francois County at 7:28 p.m. on December 24. This is just north of Madison County.

MSHP stated a 28-year-old woman was driving a 2004 Ford 150 with two children as passengers, ages 4 and 6.

Police said the woman was going north on Route OO when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the 4-year-old was later pronounced dead at Children's Hospital and the 6-year-old was later pronounced dead at Parkland Health Center.

All three were from Valley Mines, Missouri, and were all wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash, MSHP stated.
