...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Public comments wanted on proposed roundabout at Route 148 and Old Route 13

WILLIAMSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is inviting the public to comment on the plan to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Illinois 148 and Old Route 13. 

Instead of hosting a regular public meeting, IDOT will share details of the project and encourage public participation from June 27 through July 15 through a new website .

The proposed roundabout will include impacts to Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. Detailed documentation describing the impacts and mitigation associated with the effects of Illinois 148 and Old Illinois 13 on Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge will be included in project materials for this meeting.

Physical copies of the project materials will also be available at the Illinois Department of Transportation District 9 office from June 27 through the end of the day on July 11.
