WSIL(Carterville, Ill.)-- This morning, most of us are waking up to partly cloudy skies, with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s. All of us are free of shower activity this morning.

For today, you can expect to see partly cloudy skies through the morning hours, but we will see mostly sunny skies late this afternoon and evening .

Highs today should return to the low to mid 80s for most of us this afternoon, with dew points in the upper 60s. So, we should see heat index values today in the upper 80s.

Seasonable temperatures will not last long though. We are tracking a dry cold front that will move through the region late tonight.

Tomorrow morning, most of us will wake up to temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s, but thanks to the passage of the cold front, we will only see highs tomorrow in the upper 70s to near 80. Dew points will be in the mid to upper 50s tomorrow afternoon, so it will feel very dry late tomorrow afternoon.

For the weekend, mild highs are expected both Saturday and Sunday. We should see mostly sunny skies both days, but there is a chance of isolated showers Saturday night into Sunday morning. But, showers should be light.

The next chance for substantial rain will not arrive until Monday and Tuesday next week.Â
