SEMO holding several Halloween events

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (WSIL) -- Southeast Missouri State University is getting ready for the spooky season. They're hosting several family-friendly events to celebrate Halloween. 

Percussion Trick-or-Treat Concert on October 29th:

Enjoy this family-friendly concert of popular film, cartoon and video game music!

The audience is encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes. Treats will be distributed after the concert.

This performance is free and will take place inside Bedell Performance Hall starting at 7:30 p.m.

St. Louis Symphony Orchestra returns to the River Campus on October 30th:

The internationally recognized St. Louis Symphony will return to the River Campus on October 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Bedell Performance Hall.

The program will consist of great symphonic masterpieces, including Coleride-Taylor's Ballade, Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, and Tchaikovsky's celebrated Symphony No. 5.

Currently enrolled Southeast students can purchase a discounted ticket of $5 by visiting one of the three University box offices with their Student ID.

This event is sponsored by EBO MD.

Trick-or-Treat at Crisp Museum on October 31st:

Additional activities include painting wooden pumpkins and spooky coloring pages.

This is also your last day to complete the scavenger hunt for a chance to win the candy in the cauldron. The winner will be selected at 7 p.m. Winner does not have to be present.

This event is free from 4-7 p.m. and open to all ages.

Painting with Farley Lewis: Poetic Landscapes:

Participants in this workshop will learn how to enhance their compositions through Farley's creative approach to teaching art. Specific skills discussed include using values to lead the viewer's eye, how to keep colors fresh and beautiful, making bold brushwork and more.

This event is open to ages 16 and up and includes a fee of $30. Preregister by October 24 to secure your spot. Following registration, participants will receive a supply list, though some supplies will be provided.
