RANDOLPH COUNTY (WSIL) -- A Sparta woman has died after a crash in Randolph County.
Illinois State Police say a car was traveling east on Illinois Route 154, west of Lessley Road Thursday afternoon, when the vehicle for unknown reasons crossed into oncoming traffic. The car struck a mini van head on.
The driver of the car, 16-year-old girl from Evansville, Illinois was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the van, 70-year-old Kathy Deangelo of Sparta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
ISP Traffic Reconstruction Unit (TCRU) is continuing the investigation.
