FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. -- Authorities are urging motorists to avoid an area of I-57 after a crash Wednesday night.

The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency alerted the public about the crash at 9:13 p.m.

The crash happened along I-57 NB around the 71 mile marker. This is near the Benton exit.

Authorities urge motorists to avoid the area and take an alternative way around the crash.
