Carbondale man arrested for improper sex offender registration

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Williamson County police arrested a man on November 12 for his failure to correctly register as a sex offender. 

Leshawn E. Patterson lacked documents proving his status as a sex offender when police came to check on him. Officers discovered Patterson had not registered since October of 2022. 

The discovery of Patterson's crime resulted from a dispatch to the 10000 block of Anaheim Road in Carbondale. The Department of Child and Family Services reported the improper registration. 

Officers arrested Patterson on a charge of Non-compliance/Failure to register as a Sex Offender and took him to the Williamson County Jail.
