PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- A Carbondale woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a crash along I-55 on Monday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the crash happened along I-55 near the 33.4 mile marker in New Madrid County at around 7 a.m. on July 8.
MSHP stated a 65-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Ford Flex going north on I-55 when the vehicle ran off the road and overturned in a field after hitting a cable barrier.
Authorities said the woman had serious injuries and was taken by an ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. The Ford Flex she was driving was towed away from the scene.
